In-Studio Sound Healing with Gaya Shelton-Ostadi
Vibrational medicine for the soul: sounds have pitches and frequencies that can move through matter and deeply affect us…think of how the sound of the wind could either ease you if it’s a breeze softly rustling through leaves or put you on alert if it’s crashing and swirling. Gaya’s Sound Healing will start with some basic movement and breathing practice to help release tension and ground, then give time for you to deeply relax into a field of sounds designed to ease the mind and heal body and spirit.

In-Studio Intro to the Gayatri Mantra with Gaya Shelton-Ostadi
Mantras are spirit-activating words that we repeat to help focus our minds and to lift us up into emotional wellness. They can be put into practice through silent repetition, chanting aloud on our own or in a group. Gaya will help you unlock the power and meaning of opening words of Om and Shanti, and a longer chant, the Gayatri Mantra, used in many yoga and buddhist traditions and recorded by many kirtan artists. Each chant will broken down into bite size pieces and practiced by the students before going onto the next chant. Learn what each word means and what the sentiment of the chant is when the words are taken together. Class involves practice speaking and singing the chants and working toward a meditative state.

In-Studio Mantra Evening with Gaya’s Earth & Spirit Band
Join the fun on this playful Friday evening with our Musician in Residence, Gaya, and her Earth & Spirit Band. They will be leading simple mantras in a call and response format backed by drums, bass and harmonium. Sing along…coast…drop into a deep space!
