James Kapicka leads a Teacher training at Leap in February

 

Join James Kapicka for a deep study of embodied yin yoga through an exploration of breath awareness, pose modifications and variations, intelligent sequencing, yin philosophy and the creation and holding of a container for healing yoga ceremony. The course includes a 90-page manual and online access to 5 yin yoga classes with James.

 

The foundational aspects of this training include:

 Exploring somatic-based principles in yin yoga

 Coming in, supporting and exiting shapes safely

 Balance of stability and mobility in the sensual spine

 Embodying the organs, diaphragms and connective tissue

 Relaxation and the nervous system

 Anatomical and energetic sequencing

 Assisting and massage

 Use of props, modifications and variations

 Counter poses and contraindications

 Holding space that supports healing

 Use of space, silence and stillness

 

Dates & Times: 

  • Friday, Feb 18: Noon – 8pm (break from 4:15 – 5:45pm)
  • Saturday, Feb 19: Noon – 8pm
  • Sunday, Feb 20: Noon – 8pm (break from 3:45 – 5:30pm)
  • Yin class from 5:30 – 6:30pm
