Kids Yoga with Shannon Allen

This special Yogi Kids 5 week series will introduce children ages 4-10 to the practice of yoga through imaginative play and structured activities that encourage mind body awareness.

Each week we will focus on a different yoga concept including: kindness, truthfulness, sharing, self love and gratitude.

Each class will include a yoga practice including “sun salutations”, yoga games such as “Yogi Says” and a special craft including making mala necklaces.

Cacao Dream Journey with Winter Jendayi

Cacao Dream & Sound Journey

Open your heart with sacred cacao and journey with the beat of the drum to a place within where stillness is found. In this place there is knowing, and we find surrender allowing ourselves to explore new dimensions, carried by the wings of music and purified by healing plants. In this space we find healing; cultivating trust in our allies as we receive insight and clarity from this realm to bring back with us into our daily lives.

Held in a ceremonial space, this offering combines shamanic journeying, sacred songs, and sound healing. The majority of our journey will be spent lying down as we are guided on a dream journey into other realms.

Cacao, commonly used in and known as chocolate, is a medicinal plant from Central and South America which is traditionally used in ceremonies and assists in opening the heart. Winter uses only medicinal-grade cacao sourced from a women’s collective in Guatemala.

Shamanic journeying uses drum beats as a tool to induce alpha and theta brain waves guiding one into a deep state of relaxation and meditation. In this state, intuition is awakened, allowing access to symbols and memories which offer clarity, soul guidance and connection with inner wisdom.

Ashtanga Workshop with Shannon Allen

Date: Saturday, June 8th

Explore the roots of Vinyasa with this introduction to Ashtanga workshop led by Shannon Allen. Ashtanga Yoga incorporates a system of postures intelligently sequenced in such a way that improves strength and flexibility, heats and purifies the body, and brings peace and stillness to the mind. 

In this workshop we will break down each posture, highlight the importance of breath in connection to movement, and offer tools in cultivating a regular yoga practice, whether dedicated to Ashtanga or another yoga discipline.

Anyone interested in delving deeper into their own practice will benefit from this workshop.  All levels welcome.

Would you like to improve flexibility, function, performance, and reduce injuries? 

Are you still feeling “stuck” despite your regular yoga practice?

If so, this workshop is for you.

During this workshop we will be using various myofascial release tools to retrain the muscles to lengthen, strengthen and fire more efficiently. Myofascial release can reduce pain, increase range of motion and teach our muscles how to move more efficiently.

You will learn

-How your fascia effects your overall state of wellbeing.

-How to release the sticky fascia in your body that keeps you from moving freely.

-Which parts of your body need to be released and which parts could use more strength

-Which myofascial release tools work best

Guided Sound Meditation and Gentle Yin with Travis Roman

Date: Tuesday, May 21st

Time: 7:30-9pm

Investment: $25/advance registration $30/door

Travis Roman will lead you through a guided sound meditation with a unique blend of meditation techniques and some gentle Yin asanas – utilizing Tibetan Bowls, Didgeridoo and Zen Shakuhachi.

Travis holds a RYT Certificate completed in Rishikesh, India and has been on tour offering events at Meditation / Yoga Centers in Europe, Eastern USA. We are pleased to welcome him to Northern California and to Leap!
